The Culture Department puts tickets on sale for the dance performance "Atávicas"

23 October 2025
Cultura pone a la venta las entradas para el espectáculo de danza ‘Atávicas’

The Department of Culture of Benidorm City Council has announced the ticket sale for the dance performance "Atávicas," by the Spanish dance and flamenco company "Neira y Santamaría," which will take place on November 22nd in the auditorium of the Benidorm Cultural Centre at 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at www.vivaticket.es.

The performance of "Atávicas" is the Department's commitment to bringing the best of Spanish dance to Benidorm, which, in this case, is performed by a company from the province of Alicante. With this performance, the company demonstrates a shift in choreographic style, delving into more contemporary and innovative styles in terms of music, stagecraft, and choreography. Its approach to contemporary culture is reflected in Spanish dance and flamenco, while also exploring the deep roots of Spanish folklore, all with Lorca-esque dramaturgy.

The show, which lasts approximately seventy minutes, is divided into eight scenes. Scene 1: Last Journey to Granada; Scene 2: The Sweet Wait; Scene 3: The Lullaby of the Unborn; Scene 4: Solitude for Honour; Scene 5: Thus Shall You Pass?; Scene 6: Freedom; Scene 7: Lorca's Women United; Scene 8: Today.

The artistic and choreographic direction of the show is by Teresa Neira and Mari Ángeles Santamaría, and the musical direction is by Vadim Yukhnevich. The performance will feature poems by Federico García Lorca with a voiceover by Encarna Illán.
