The Councilors for Citizen Participation, Ana Pellicer, and Works, Public Space and Street Cleaning, José Ramón González de Zárate, today have held a working meeting with representatives of Sierra Helada-Rincón de Loix association, in which also participated the vice presidents of the Neighborhood Council, Teresa Garrido and Manuel Sánchez Notario and municipal technicians.
Along the lines of those programmed visits by all neighborhoods in the city, the councilors have met the needs of the association. González de Zárate responded to the questions raised in relation to the control of the colonies of cats, street cleaning and collection of urban solid waste, cleaning of scuppers, pruning, control of the tiger mosquito, maintenance of luminaires and specific issues in Marsella and Sicilia streets De Zárate has been very satisfied with the “positive” of the weekly meetings. The president of the association, Adolfo Valor, together with several associates has made suggestions that are moved to the study phase, while the councillor has committed immediate actions in lighting, installation of bollards next to the sidewalks “so that they have the necessary effect of reducing speed ”and study of solutions to the remains of pruning.

During the meeting, the local representatives have been informed of the European regulations on solid waste and its future incidence at municipal level after 2022 and of governance issues in the city management, the process for replacing luminaires is being initiated in Sicilia street.
