Benidorm City Council is going to authorize the association of pubs and clubs, Ociobal, to organize parties on the Levante first line at five times of the year to increase the leisure offer and encourage the activity of the pubs in the area. Specifically, the authorized parties, part of which have already taken place in recent years: the Kids Party -20 May-, the night of San Juan -23 June-, the Party Low Festival -26 July-, Benidorm Pride -9th of September- and New Year's Eve -31st of December-. In addition, on the occasion of St. Patrick-March 17, St. George-April 23-and the Major Festivities. Ociobal may thematize and decorate Alcoy Avenue, Bilbao Street and its pubs to attract more customers.
This has been agreed today at a meeting convened by the councilor for Events and Festivals, José Ramón González de Zárate, with representatives of most of the groups of the corporation and with Ociobal. An agreement that will be embodied in an agreement that next Monday will be issued in an information commission for subsequent approval in full session, as explained by the councilman in a press conference with the president of Ociobal, Rubén Navarro.
De Zárate stressed that the first five parties "include musical events", with "marked and regulated schedules" by the department of Public Security and their corresponding "emergency plans"; while the remaining three are limited "to decorating the public road and the premises".
The councilor stressed that "there will be a strict compliance with the schedules", and that all the necessary corrective measures will be applied to "avoid the maximum complaints". In this sense, he indicated that, thanks to the measures implemented on New Year's Eve and unlike in previous years, "there was not a single neighborhood complaint" during the party organized by Ociobal on Bilbao Street and Levante's first line. A party that, according to data transferred by the association, aroused the interest of "more than 200,000 people in social networks and on Ociobal web".
