2,946 UK citizens are registered in Benidorm
The City Council facilitates the procedures for obtaining residence for British citizens
The Department of Foreign Residents, in collaboration with the intercultural association Babelia, summons the British population to an informative talk on Thursday, November 26, at 10.00 in the morning in the Assembly Hall of the City Hall. The reason for that is getting the residence permit for the natives of the United Kingdom, once the transition period agreed with the European Union after Brexit ends.
The person in charge of the department, Ana Pellicer, has indicated that the call is part of "information and guidance activities" aimed at citizens of the United Kingdom residing in the town, within "the framework of the collaboration of Spain, as a member of EU, with this country ”. The informative talk aims to “give support to the British living in the city”. Pellicer recalled that "the British community is the largest among foreign residents in Benidorm" and that currently "there are 2,946 people, 4.14 per cent of those registered", according to the INE (National Institute of Statistics).
Due to the application of the health regulations derived from the Covid-19 pandemic, the use of a mask and hydroalcoholic gel will be mandatory and the Assembly Hall will offer a limited capacity to respect the mandatory social security distance.
