Seeks to offset increased operating and supply expenses to contribute to the long-awaited recovery
Following the modality of #BenidormTeEspera window dressing contest, in which more than 2,770 establishments participated, the City Council has convened a new contest, #LuceBenidorm, with which it will inject 1.1 million euros into the local productive fabric and which is focused on boosting activity after the high season. This has been announced today by the mayor, Toni Pérez, who in a press conference reported that "two lines of action and aid directed on one side to families and on the other to the productive fabric" and for which "about 1.4 million euros" will be mobilized.
Right in this last line is #LuceBenidorm, “new municipal initiative to support the productive fabric of the city, which despite a summer with good data regarding the recovery of tourist activity, still continues to suffer the effects of this crisis caused by the pandemic and that also has to deal with aspects that make it difficult for people to carry out their activity normally or at least to be able to recover it ”.
Thus, “to the numerous restrictions and limitations that are still in force, we must add at this time the increase in operating costs and supplies, such as electricity, which has skyrocketed and is penalizing families and the productive fabric. ”. In fact, as he has pointed out, "today a third historical record has been reached" for the price of electricity, and in light of that circumstance "this City Council moves" to "mitigate this situation as much as possible, calling for this new tender of decorating, with which we want to contribute to offset the increase in these expenses so that Benidorm and its establishments do not go out of business ", he added.
The dynamics of this #LuceBenidorm "is very similar" to that of #BenidormTeEspera ", in this case aimed exclusively at commercial establishments, restaurants, hotels, leisure and services in the town. Thus, participants must decorate their establishments with a free theme but prominently and visibly incorporating the hashtag #LuceBenidorm; an ornamentation that must be maintained from September 10 to November 17. In addition, they must publish at least one image of the decorated establishment on one or more social networks including the hashtag of the contest and #Benidorm, and tagging the City Council
Through this contest, the mayor stressed, "the effort, creativity and fighting spirit of our merchants, hoteliers, restaurateurs and service companies is once again recognized and recognized," establishing "a general access for 400 participants. euros and three prizes of 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 euros in each of the two types of competition: commercial and service establishments, and hotel, restaurant and leisure establishments.
