Christmas starts in Benidorm on December 4

Christmas will begin in Benidorm on December 4, the date on which BeniNadal 2021/2022 program will start, which this morning was presented by the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the councilor for Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles. A Christmas holiday "responsible, but without renouncing anything", has stressed the councillor, and that "will be modulated at all times according to the health measures dictated by the Generalitat Valenciana", observing "in all activities and venues the protocols of health security ”.
Toni Pérez explained that BeniNadal's is "a program of the highest level, designed for all audiences but especially for the little ones" and that it will be "a great attraction for residents of Benidorm, the surroundings and the entire Valencian Community, and also for those who visit us ”between December 4 and January 6. Traditionally, Benidorm will have its Christmas Square, which this year recovers the rides for children, and in which there will also be inflatables, an ice rink and a Christmas market. Also the Christmas square "will receive what are possibly the figures of the largest Magi in the world", with an approximate height of 10 meters.
As in previous years, BeniNadal will take place in different venues and locations. Thus, the House of Christmas will be located in l’Hort de Colón, which in the days before Christmas Eve will receive a visit from Santa Claus ”. Also from day 4, Elche Park will host the Christmas ‘market’.
Julio Iglesias Auditorium in Parque de l'Aigüera, meanwhile, will be the setting for most of the "14 musical and dance shows for all audiences" included in the program, "all of them free" and "with the limitation current capacity at all times ”.
The mayor has advanced that in BeniNadal there will be space "for such a Christmas tradition as nativity scenes." Up to four will be able to be visited from December 8 to January 6. Thus, there will be a monumental nativity scene at Plaza SSMM Reyes de España; a traditional one carried out by the Nativity Scene Association of the Marina Baixa in the ‘hall’ of the Town Hall; the one that is set up annually by ARC La Barqueta at its headquarters on Tomás Ortuño Street; and a room in La Casa de Andalucía - 4, Mercurio street-.
In addition, on December 27, SSMM Los Reyes Magos de Oriente Camp will return to Benidorm, which will be installed until January 6.
Toni Pérez added that "the culmination of this program will be the Three Kings Parade", on the afternoon of January 5 and that, "after last year's experience", it will reach Julio Iglesias auditorium.
Finally, the mayor thanked the Independent Association of Merchants (AICO) for their participation in the House of Christmas and the Christmas ‘market’; as well as the Nativity Scene Association of the Marina Baixa, the ARC La Barqueta and the Andalusian House, which collaborate with the installation of the nativity scenes.
