Benidorm says 'No' to violence against women
For yet another year, Benidorm has said 'No' to gender violence, coinciding with the celebration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. This morning, and within the events organized by the Department of Equality, a commemorative banner has been placed on the facade of the Town Hall; an act in which the mayor, Toni Pérez; the councilor of the department, Ángela Zaragozí; and members of the Municipal Corporation have participated.
Subsequently, at noon, a manifesto was read on the occasion of 25-N on the radio program ‘Femenino Plural’ of the municipal station ‘Onda Benidorm’.
The programming of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is completed this afternoon, at 5.30 pm, with the march against Gender Violence promoted by the Association of Housewives of Benidorm, which will departure from Plaza de SSMM Los Reyes de España. In addition, the façade of the Town Hall and the Castell and Tossal de la Cala will be lighted up at night with purple colour, a commemorative tonality of this Day.
‘A vueltas con la vida’The activities planned for today close the programming that since last Monday has been developed within the framework of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, in which there have been talks, workshops, as well as the opening of the exhibition of posters made by the students of the Artistic Baccalaureate of the IES Pere Mª Orts i Bosch, which until next December 7 can be visited in l'Espai d'Art del Ayuntamiento.
Also within this program, yesterday afternoon the play 'A vueltas con la vida', written by Juan Luis Iborra, directed by Quique González and performed by Lola Soler, with piano accompaniment by Daniel Castillo, was performed in the City Hall's Assembly Hall. . The representation was attended by the mayor of Equality and several members of the municipal Corporation.
