The female choir, directed by Jame Francisco Ripoll, captivates the audience gathered in Sant Jaume i Santa Anna church
Camerata Ars Cantica offers its Easter "Sacred Music Concert"
Coinciding with the celebration of Holy Week and within the programming of the Department of Culture, the church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna hosted last night the 'Concert of sacred music' that, traditionally, is offered by the Camerata Ars Cantica de Benidorm.
With the temple full, the women's choir from Bendorm has demonstrated, after 8:00 p.m., its good work, before a dedicated audience. Among the attendees, the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, the first deputy mayor, Ana Pellicer, and the mayor of the government team, Mónica Gómez. Also present were the major and child queens of the Festes Majors Patronals, Angélica Morenilla, and Daniela Talavera, and the president of the Comissió, Vicente Solaz.
Under the direction of Jaime Francisco Ripoll Martins and accompanied on piano by Mª Eugenia Palomares, the female choir has performed a concert in its first part composed of 'Estrella del mar, by A. Gessa and M. Martínez; 'Sanctus', by T.L. Victoria; 'Ego sum panis vivus', by P. Piel; 'Ubi caritas', by Olga Gjeilo; and 'Gerusalemme', by Giuseppe de Marzi.
In the second part, Ars Cantica has sung 'If I don't try your sorrows', by Francisco Guerrero; 'Stabat Mater', by G.B. Pergolesi; Panis Angelicus, by Cesar Franck, and ended with 'Alleluia', by Leonard Cohen.
