The offer of vacancies is 195 places from 0 to 2 years old, to which are added the P2 classrooms set up in four schools
Benidorm opens on April 17 the enrollment period for a place for municipal nursery schools and the SAPI
The procedure will be done electronically until May 3 on the municipal website with a digital certificate
On April 17, starting at 9:30 a.m., the period for applying for a place in the three municipal nursery schools –Fontanelles, Les Caletes, and El Tossalet- and in the Early Childhood Care Service (SAPI) Nanets opens. The Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, reported that "the provisional offer for the 2022/2023 course of Infants from 0 to 2 years in the municipal network is 195 vacancies for families with minors born in the years 2021, 2022 and 2023".
The number of provisional vacancies is distributed in 16 infant places for 0 years; 114, for P1; and 65 for 2-year-old Infant places for boys and girls born in 2021. However, "depending on demand, there is the possibility of expanding the initial offer by two more units for 1-year-old infants or P2 at SAPI Nanets."
Regarding the 0-year-old Infant units, Moreno indicated that "to enroll a minor born in 2023 in classrooms at this level, he/she must be four months old in September."
The mayor clarified that the overall offer of the three municipal nursery schools is greater than the places offered, but part of the school positions are already occupied by students enrolled in previous courses who have confirmed their enrollment and who will go up a level in September.
In this regard, he pointed out that "for this course, there has been a higher percentage of confirmation of places than last year by families who already have minors enrolled in nursery schools and in SAPI Nanets, which reduces the number of vacancies initials at the P1 and P2 levels, although there is the possibility, as already indicated, of creating new units in the SAPI”.
The Councilor for Education stressed that "the process of applying for a place in nursery schools and in SAPI will be done electronically on the website of the City Council (https://sede.benidorm.org/inicio)". Moreno stressed that "unlike last year and following the dynamics implemented by the Ministry itself in its procedures, it will be necessary to have a digital certificate to make this online application."
Families that lack technological means will have help with electronic processing, by appointment, at the Department of Education, located on the 3rd floor of the City Hall, and at the premises of the Municipal Psycho-pedagogical Cabinet, which is located on Avenida Venezuela number 5, in the premises of the CEIP Ausiàs March. The appointment can be requested by phone at 966815471.
Families must attach all required documentation in PDF format; documentation that can be consulted in the Education section of the municipal website, https://benidorm.org, within the section 'Municipal specialized services registration for early childhood course 2023-2024'.
Moreno recalled that "when it comes to filling the vacancies, requests from families registered in Benidorm with a seniority of at least 12 uninterrupted months (group A) will be dealt with first." Next, it will be the turn of the families registered for less than a year (group B); and ultimately, if there were vacancies, the requests of families residing in other localities would be attended to (group c)”. Likewise, she has stressed that "if the demand exceeds the supply of places, only families registered in Benidorm will be included in the official waiting list."
The application period will be open until May 3. The provisional lists will be published on May 17, opening three days for claims. On May 24, the final lists will be published, which may be invoked from that same day until May 26. Each center will set the enrollment date.
Offer of the Ministry of Education for P2
Apart from the municipal offer, Moreno recalled that Benidorm "has 72 'extra' places for 2-year-olds, for boys and girls born in 2021, in classrooms set up for this purpose in the Aitana, Vasco Núñez de Balboa, Mestre Gaspar López and Puig Campana schools”. The mayor clarified that “the enrollment request for these classrooms will be the same established by the Ministry for the second cycle of Early Childhood and Primary Education; that is, from April 20 to 28”, and that “this offer may be extended with another 18 desks at CEIP La Cala”.
