The improvement works at Juan Fuster Zaragoza, where a rainwater collector is already installed, will be finished for Easter
Benidorm will open next week to pedestrians the new sidewalk of Ametlla del Mar
Beginning in the middle of next week, pedestrians will be able to walk along the new sidewalk of Ametlla del Mar Avenue, the one located on the side closest to Amsterdam and London streets, once the renovation works of the water infrastructure of the subsoil and pavement in this section. The workers in charge of the remodeling of the avenue are already working on finishing the pavement of this sidewalk, as the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the councilor of Works, José Ramón González de Zárate, have been able to confirm today.
The mayor pointed out that "when planning this work, as in the rest of the ones that are currently being executed in the city, we always try to ensure that the daily life of residents, traders and tourists is affected at least possible, which is not always easy considering the magnitude of integral remodeling like the one that is being executed in Atmella del Mar ". "Within this dynamic, we are putting into service the stretches of work already completed, as we will do next week with this stretch of sidewalk, in which we have followed the same aesthetic as on Jaime I Avenue," he added.
Those responsible for the construction company have reported that the installation of a rainwater collector in Juan Fuster Zaragoza has already begun, and that the work improvements planned in this avenue will be completed for Easter. The mayor recalled that "this water infrastructure is vital, as this collector will collect all the rainwater from the upper Rincón de Loix and the surroundings of Ametlla del Mar, thus avoiding flooding in the area."
Pérez recalled that "until now we did not have a rainwater collector in the area, which made the accumulations of water common when it rained with some intensity". Once the rainwater of the upper part of Rincón de Loix has been channeled, "we are ready to consider and execute with guarantees the renovation of the streets such as Estocolmo or Monte Carlo, as we are already doing in Londres street". "Now that the problem of stormwater has been overcome, we can now address the updating of these streets, something we would have liked to do before, but we have had to postpone waiting for this solution," he added. The municipal technicians are already working on projects to update and improve some of these routes.
