The tender will be made by public tender for € 242,000 - € 200,000 plus VAT -, which would reduce about 400,000 euros to start the material execution of the works.

According to Perez, "in the first two months the preliminary draft of the whole avenue must be made, and the next four will be to concretize the project of execution of the first phase." However, when evaluating the offers, it will be taken into account that companies reduce these deadlines by up to two months, thus speeding up future works.

The mayor has stated that "if everything fits well" and the projects are available within the deadlines set by the technicians, the renovation works of the first phase could be tendered in the last quarter and start later this year, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the General Plan in which the Mediterráneo Avenue was lit.

Pérez has stressed that the renovation of this avenue is a "very important" action for the city, being one of its main arteries and one of the busiest. In any case, it will be necessary to wait for the drafting of the projects to know the scope of the project in economic terms.

Finally, he recalled that in addition to acting on the section of the avenue closest to the center, the City Council will also do in the remaining part, which runs between the avenues Europa and Atmella del Mar.
