Benidorm Tourism Foundation participates from March 13 to 15 at MITT Moscow Fair, which celebrates its 25th edition this year and is considered the most important tourist event in Russia. In this edition, the participation of 23,000 tourism professionals and more than 1,900 companies from 187 countries and regions whose offer will be distributed in 7 pavilions in an area of 40,000 m2.
The tourist offer of the Valencian Community is presented distributed in five counters inside the Spanish stand, in which the brands of Benidorm, Costa Blanca, València Turisme, Castellón and the own AVT are represented.
As indicated by the latest report of the situation of the Russian issuing market prepared by the Valencian Agency of Tourism based on data from the INE, the arrivals of Russian tourists to Spain have increased by 14.1% in 2017. In the case of the Comunitat Valenciana, the increase amounts to 73% year-on-year, with a total of 176,000 Russian tourists during the past year.
Similarly, the overnight stays of the Russians in hotels in the Region grew by 27% in 2017 and by 9% in the apartments. For the Comunitat Valenciana, Russia is the twelfth issuing market, with a share of 2%.
During the days of the fair, Visit Benidorm will take the opportunity to hold meetings with tour operators, press and bloggers in order to establish new lines of collaboration and make a presentation by the Valencian Tourism Agency and with the intention of publicizing the expansion offer that Benidorm can offer to the Russian public.
It is important that Benidorm continues working to position itself in the Russian market and in this way continue to reactivate the arrival of this tourist profile in the city, characterized by its high purchasing power and its interest in discovering the Mediterranean coast, the Russian visitor makes an expenditure daily of more than 110 euros and remains an average of almost 15 days.
