Benidorm renews the public lighting of the second line of La Cala implementing luminaires with 'led' technology
Benidorm City Council has renewed the public lighting of the second line of La Cala with the installation of 30 'led' technology luminaires. The mayor, Toni Pérez, explained that with this action "we improve security and the urban scene, since new staffs have been installed", while "we reduce consumption by 75%, betting on energy efficiency and much better and more sustainable lighting conditions ".
This action was put out to tender for an amount close to 200,000 euros and has allowed the renewal of Santander Street and five adjacent roads: Aigües, Alfàs del Pi, Vigo, Vinarós and Murtal. The mayor recalled that the street lighting installations of these streets were obsolete, because "although in recent years the wiring had been renewed and the pipes were improved, it was essential to replace the points of light in order to guarantee the best lighting, aesthetic and of efficiency ".
Pérez has indicated that with this action "we complement that great project of energy efficiency in the installation of the public lighting of La Cala, Rincón de Loix and Colonia Madrid", which went out to bid "for more than 580,000 euros", which has been executed by lots, and that has allowed the updating of the luminaires of 35 streets of these three neighborhoods. The mayor pointed out that "this is a very important investment, but from the minute one is going to reduce the electricity bill that Benidorm had in the three areas."
For neighborhoods, in Colonia Madrid has been performed in the streets: Deportes, Virgen de la Paloma, Luna, Espejo, Jardines, Rejoneador Ginés Cartagena, Goya, Macarena, Paseo de las Acacias, Paseo de la Castellana, Serrano, Alcalá, Salamanca , Almudena, Velázquez, Montera, Florida, Atocha and Arnedo. In Rincón de Loix the renewal of the lighting and implementation of 'LED' luminaires has reached the streets: Paris - in the section that goes from Ametlla del Mar to Monte Carlo, Monte Carlo - from Berlin to Paris - part of Estocolmo avenues - between Berlín and Paris- and Londres; section of Montecarlo Avenue between the streets of Roma and Paris, Atenas, Viena, Lisboa, Roma and Oslo.
