Benidorm renews its Spanish DTI network certification
Benidorm has renewed the Smart Tourist Destination (DTI) certification of the national network promoted by Segittur, an organisation dependent on the Ministry of Industry and Tourism after having passed the last audit process. Within the framework of the International Tourism Fair of Madrid (Fitur), the mayor, Toni Pérez, received the certification yesterday from the hands of the Secretary of State for Tourism, Rosario Sánchez.
Toni Pérez stated that “with this renewal, our commitment to continuous improvement in our DTI management system is confirmed, a requirement that we transfer to all areas of municipal management daily.” “Every day we try to be better in the axes on which the DTI pivots: sustainability, governance, innovation, new technologies and accessibility,” said the mayor, after recalling that all of them “are transversal issues that form part of our city strategy.”
According to the results of the audit, Benidorm demonstrates the effective maintenance and improvement of the management system by the standard, establishing appropriate objectives and goals that are met.
“We were the first destination to be certified, but this milestone, far from relaxing us, motivates us to try to be better and to manage our resources and services to improve the quality of life of residents and tourists,” he concluded.
