The concessionaire incorporates 51 new operators, increases the material resources and the itineraries
Benidorm reinforces cleaning and waste collection services during the summer season
In coordination with the concessionaire FCC, the Department of Street Cleaning of Benidorm City Council has increased the cleaning and collection services for solid urban waste since last June 22 by reinforcing material and human resources.
In terms of material resources, there will be two more reinforcement vans for the collection of litter bins in the morning and afternoon shifts and two more pressurised water cleaners in the morning shift. Added to this are an irrigation and washdown tank for the night shift and another for the day shift.
Human resources have also been increased with two street cleaning drivers, two washing down labourers on the day and night shifts, another two driving labourers for the collection of litter bins in the afternoon shift and two other driving labourers for the pressure washers.
With this reinforcement, explained the councilman José Ramón González de Zárate, "washdowns are carried out in all the neighbourhoods, leisure areas, pedestrian areas, parks and gardens, etc." are improved. The mayor has specified in this sense that since the 22nd they have already been flushing sidewalks and setbacks in the neighbourhood of Colonia Madrid, Alfredo Corral, Pescadores neighbourhood, in addition to Maravall and Juan Antonio Baldoví streets. "And the leisure areas of Rincón de Loix, Óscar Esplá auditorium, on Murtal Avenue have continued to be attended".
Likewise, as of July 1, the workforce will increase to 51 reinforcement workers for the entire summer season, the routes will be increased and cleaning and collection in La Cala and the upper part of Rincón de Loix will be reinforced especially.
Similarly, González de Zárate has highlighted that action will be taken "at all the entrances to the city" and there will also be cleaning reinforcement "on all the roads of the Benidorm orchard", where the waste collection will be increased with a truck more to meet the increase derived from the high season.
On the other hand, the mayor has pointed out that this summer "we must also attend to recently opened streets such as Bolivia, Paraguay, Guatemala, Brazil, Mexico and its surroundings, without forgetting that we must also act in the El Moralet park".
With the reinforcements already implemented, González de Zárate has stated that "we will attend to all the needs of the city so that both tourists and residents can enjoy these dates to the fullest."
