Late in the morning, the delivery of the distinctive mark that accredits Benidorm as a Tourist Municipality in the Valencian Government in accordance with the Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality Law, whose regulations are from January, took place the Mayor's Office of Benidorm. of this same year.
Upon receiving it from the hands of Francesc Colomer, Secretary for Tourism of the Generalitat Valenciana, the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez highlighted "the enormous pride and honor of receiving it", that "it is the result of an intense work" and, especially , "the commitment of those who, with Benidorm as a reference, work to value tourism".
Pérez pointed out that "the new law imposed a challenge on us and Benidorm has overcome it with speed, rigor and professionalism" and today it is the first accredited tourist municipality in the Valencian Community.
After the delivery, the Regional Secretary stressed that "Benidorm is the tourist city par excellence" and underlined "the duty of gratitude" with this recognition "to the value of Benidorm".
The new law, insisted Colomer, "reorients, recontextualizes and modernizes the concept of tourist municipality, redefining the profile and the premises", and Benidorm, he stressed, "has been the first to achieve it, which shows the city's will to be always the first, the avant-garde ”.
For the Regional Secretary, "Benidorm is the engine of tourism and has great value in its own right".
Finally, the Mayor Toni Pérez thanked "the work of all the people, entities and institutions that have made it possible" and encouraged us to persevere and achieve new goals that ensure prosperity in tourism.
