Benidorm, present at the meeting of the Spain Convention Bureau with the Secretary of State for Tourism
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, attended on Tuesday the meeting held in Madrid by the Council of Government of the Spain Convention Bureau (SCB) with the Secretary of State for Tourism, Matilde Asían. Pérez has participated in this meeting as a member of the Governing Council of the SCB, an organ of which also includes, among others, Gran Canaria, Santander, Madrid, Torremolinos or Gandía.
During the meeting, a number of issues have been raised in tourism and specifically in the segment of congresses and events, such as security, which has become even more relevant after the attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils. In this regard, the mayor of Benidorm has exposed the measures that the city has implemented since last December, what has been the experience in managing mass events during the summer, and the work developed with forces and security bodies through of the Delegation and the Subdelegation of Government.
Pérez also referred to how to marry sustainability and events, in a meeting that also dealt with collaborative actions between the SCB-FEMP and Turespaña in the field of promotion and studies of market knowledge. Those present also spoke about the rental of holiday homes by conference attendees; and the presence of the SCB in national cooperation bodies, among other matters.
