Between 3 p.m. on Friday and 6 a.m. on Monday you will not be able to enter and leave the city, except for justified exceptions

Benidorm organizes its weekend perimeter closure

27 January 2021
Benidorm organitza el seu tancament perimetral de cap de setmana...

The five main avenues will have access controls and all secondary roads will remain closed

Following the announcement made by the President of the Generalitat last Sunday and Decree 2/2021 published in the DOGV on Monday 25, Benidorm City Council has organized the device for the perimeter closure of the city in the next three weekends , perimeter mobility suspension that, in addition to Benidorm, affects fourteen other cities with more than 50,000 inhabitants in the Valencian Community and the town of Petrer due to its difficult situation like the town of Elda.

Thus, already this coming weekend between 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29 and 6:00 a.m. on Monday, February 1, you will only be able to enter and leave Benidorm, for very justified reasons, through the avenues of La Vila Joiosa, Juan Pablo II, Beniardá, Comunidad Europea and Comunidad Valenciana, in which members of the Local Police and National Police will establish controls for the effectiveness of the measure.

Outside of these five main roads, the restriction on mobility affects all the other secondary roads of the Municipal District in which Local Police, National Police and Civil Guard will establish controls at significant points -such as CV735, tourist road-, remaining closed, with concrete bionda, the rest.

With this operation, the mobility and transit of citizens is reduced during the next weekend to the municipality of Benidorm, not being able to make trips and trips outside of it, to neighboring towns, except for the justified reasons stipulated in the Decree 15/2020, of October 30 and to which this measure refers, where the exceptions are specified: attendance at a health center, work obligations, return to the place of residence, care for the vulnerable, exams at universities, proceedings before public bodies and causes demonstrable force majeure.

This perimeter closure measure will be applied equally and under the same conditions the next two weekends; between 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5 and 6:00 a.m. on Monday, February 8, and between 3:00 p.m. on Friday 12 and 6:00 a.m. on Monday, February 15, when this provision would expire today.

The Councilor for Citizen Security, Lorenzo Martínez, after the coordination meetings with the other police forces has highlighted "the harmony and collaboration", highlighting that the operation "will be similar to the closure during the first state of alarm" with the objective, he stressed, to "reduce the mobility of entry and exit as ordered by the Generalitat, as well as to verify that the regulations on masks and vehicle occupants are met".

He appealed Martínez to the responsibility of citizenship and trusted that "everything will develop normally"

As happened in the operations of last April, Mayor Toni Pérez has also influenced "the cooperation of the police forces for the preparation of the operation and the involvement of the troops", noting that "Benidorm finalizes that mandate of the Generalitat by which this city, having more than 50,000 inhabitants, must be closed perimeter "activating these measures for a duration" as long as this decree and the successive ones that may come stipulates.

Pérez stressed that "Benidorm is always loyal" with the decisions that are taken from higher administrations, trusting that they are being taken with the necessary information and in accordance with the health authority and experts ". The mayor outlined the "predisposition of the Benidorm City Council" in the application of these rules with the ease possible for the citizens.

At the same time, the mayor has made an appeal "for prudence and citizen collaboration" and especially "for responsibility, no matter how important the exit we must make."

"This, we must all contribute to stop it," said the mayor, launching "a message of hope" along with a new call "for responsibility, because together we can overcome this circumstance."

Finally, Toni Pérez called for compliance with these measures, stressing that "there is nothing worth more than" protecting our health, our environment and that of people we do not know. " And these measures to restrict mobility at the weekend, the mayor concluded, go along that line.
