The vacancies offer is 200 seats from 0 to 2 years, to which the 72 for P2 arranged by Conselleria in four schools in the city are added
Benidorm opens the application for a place for municipal nursery schools and SAPI on Monday
Depending on the demand, two more units could be enabled in SAPI
The Department of Education of Benidorm City Hall opens next Monday, April 8, and until 17 the period of application for places in the three municipal children's schools-Fontanelles, Les Caletes and El Tossalet-and the Service of Attention to Early Childhood (SAPI) Nanets, corresponding to the ages of Early Childhood Education.
The mayor, Toni Pérez, who is also in charge of the Education area, has informed that for the next school year "200 vacancies" are offered for children from 0 to 2 years for families with children born in 2017, 2018 and 2019 in the municipal services. The number of vacancies is distributed in 16 child seats of 0 years; 114, of P1, for students born in 2018; and 70 infant seats of 2 years for those born in 2017.
Pérez has qualified that the global offer of the three municipal nursery schools and SAPI amounts to 366 'desks', although 166 of those school positions are already occupied by students enrolled in previous courses that have confirmed their enrollment and that in September will rise level.
However, "depending on the demand" there is the possibility of "enabling two more units of 1 or 2 years on the initial offer of the municipal network". Specifically, it could be increased by 26 places for students born in 2018, or 40 offered for those born in 2017, since "the 'ratios' are different for children of 1 and 2 years."
For the second consecutive year, it will allow "the request for a place for the 'non-born' whose birth is scheduled before April 18," coinciding with the end of the ordinary period for applying for admission. As of that date, possible vacancies can be accessed in an extraordinary period.
Until April 17 the documentation can be presented in the administrative extensions or in the Department of Education, located on the third floor of the City Council.
The mayor recalled that today Friday the municipal nursery schools and the Early Childhood Care Service (SAPI) holds an Open House for families to know their facilities and educational projects. This open day will be held from 3 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Les Fontanelles Nursery School (Avenida del Municipi, 18 B); and from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Les Caletes (Avenida Ciudad Real, 6), El Tossalet (Mont Benidorm Avenue, 7) and SAPI (Mirador Street, 5).
Offer of the Ministry of Education for P2
Apart from the municipal offer, the mayor has informed that Benidorm has 72 places 'extra' of kindergarten for 2 years, for boys and girls born in 2017, in the classrooms "that the Ministry of Education, with the collaboration of the City Council, it makes available in the schools Aitana, Mestre Gaspar López, Vasco Núñez de Balboa and Puig Campana ". The application deadline for these classes will be open from 9 to 17 May.
The mayor explained that the school network of Benidorm for the three levels of pre-school kindergarten education amounts to 438 'desks' "between the offer exclusively municipal and that provided by the Ministry of Education." Of those 438 school positions, a total of 272 vacancies are offered for the next school year.
In addition, in the city there are 89 places for children from 0 to 2 years in private centers, which brings the global offer to 527 'desks'.
Pérez stressed that these public offer numbers for the first cycle of Early Childhood Education make Benidorm, by population, "one of the cities in Spain that has the most offer in this educational segment."
