Benidorm opens and closes the 8th Forum of Smart and Sustainability Urban-Greencities of Malaga
The mayor exposes the city's experience and its DTI model
Benidorm is very active these days in the eighth Forum of Inteligencia and Urban Sustainability Greencities that was inaugurated this morning in the Palace of Congresses and Exhibitions of Malaga. It has been the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and for the Information Society and Digital Agenda (SESIAD), under the Ministry of Tourism, which has led Benidorm to take part in this forum as "example of success", opening and closing The programing.
In fact, the first activity of this forum has been a Meeting of Mayors, in which Toni Pérez has participated along with his counterpart in Manizales (Colombia), Octavio Cardona. This activity has served the mayor to explain how Benidorm "has become the first municipality in which has successfully tested, with the Government of Spain and Seggitur, the new Standard UNE 178501, which regulates the management of Destinations Tourist Information (DTI).
In his speech, the mayor has narrated the experience of Benidorm in his career to be DTI, as well as the work that has been done on innovation "until the Visit Benidorm Foundation is the first AENOR certified in technology observation and competitive intelligence ".
Before the audience, the mayor has also talked about the technology 'beacons', the implantation of Wi-Fi on the beaches and points of great influx, and the return that both initiatives have for the city when planning promotional actions and To manage the destination more efficiently and effectively.
Pérez has also defended the commitment to policies and inclusive projects that guarantee universal accessibility, and once again has influenced that the urban model of Benidorm is the most sustainable, which consumes less territory and fewer natural resources.

The presence of Benidorm in this Forum Greencities has been complemented with an information panel in the stand of the Ministry on the tourist intelligence system, and in the intervention in different programs or tables. Within the latter, tomorrow the manager of the Foundation Visit Benidorm, Leire Bilbao, will take part in a roundtable on 'How to make your city an intelligent tourist destination'. A table that will close the programming of the 8th Forum of Smart Tourism and Urban Sustainability.
