Electricians and the maintenance staff of Benidorm City Council have started the maintenance and renovation of the Municipal Market luminaires. The performance will be extended for a few days and will consist of replacing the fluorescent lights with LED tubes.
The tubes with LED technology (light emitting diode), are much more efficient than the traditional ones. With a lower energy consumption they get more lighting and are much more resistant. The manufacture of fluorescent tubes requires polluting compounds that are highly dangerous for human health, such as mercury vapor, while LED technology does not require any gas to ignite and, in addition, its operation is instantaneous.
