Benidorm launches four access points to free wifi in the downtown area
Benidorm already has four free and universal wifi access points in the urban center "at full capacity". The mayor, Toni Pérez, explained that this technological implementation has been carried out within the works to improve the commercial scope of Los Almendros and the pedestrianization of Tomás Ortuño and provide service to its area of influence.
Specifically, these access points, whose antennas are integrated into several light beams and identified with the name 'Benidorm_free_wifi', are located "at the intersection of Los Limones and Carrasco streets, Calle Escuela, Tomás Ortuño with Mercado street and Neptune Square ". In addition to having all the Wi-Fi technology, two of these staffs also have a built-in camera and are prepared for, in the future and depending on the needs or demand, can be used as charging points for electric vehicles.
Pérez pointed out that these access points "serve as a complement to the Wi-Fi network launched a short time ago on the beaches and the Castle area" which serves the coastal front and the old town. The idea, according to the mayor, "is to gradually extend this service to" all of Benidorm, without exception ".
These access points are operated by Cloud Wifi and allow a free daily connection of half an hour, since they are governed by the limitations of Wi-Fi use in public areas, which also set a cap of download megs.
To these four free and universal Wi-Fi hotspots, "two more will be added shortly in the pedestrian zone of Gerona Street".
