With this gesture we want to raise awareness of a disease that affects about 400,000 people in Spain

Benidorm joins the National Epilepsy Day by lighting the Castell, the Town Hall and the Tossal in orange

24 May 2021
Esta tarde-noche se iluminan en naranja el Castell, el Tossal y el Ayuntamiento

The city of Benidorm joins today the commemoration of the National Epilepsy Day by lighting up in orange three of its most iconic enclaves: the Castell, the Tossal de La Cala and the façade of the Town Hall. The objective of this gesture is to make visible a disease that affects about 400,000 people throughout Spain, and whose characteristics and variants are very unknown to a very high percentage of the population.
In this way, Benidorm adheres to the activities to "make this ailment come out of the shadows" organized by the National Association of People with Epilepsy-ANPE, which has also launched a children's story entitled 'El mar de los mil nombres' and which can be downloaded free of charge on the entity's website. Through this story, it is intended that the little ones "are aware of an ailment that they themselves suffer in a significant percentage or that the adults around them may suffer."
