The extra tutoring classes for Primary students will be from July 5 to August 26
Benidorm increases the places for the Summer Educational Support Program, which will take place at the CEIP Leonor Canalejas
Registration is open until June 23 and up to 30 scholarships will be awarded that will cover 100% of the cost of the PAEV
The Department of Education is preparing a new edition of the Summer Educational Support Program (PAEV), which this year will take place at the CEIP Leonor Canalejas facilities and which offers more places than in previous years. Specifically, and once the restrictions forced by the pandemic have been overcome, the offer "will be 90 places, an increase with which we want to reach as many students as possible", as reported by the mayor of the area, Maite Moreno.
Moreno recalled that "the PAEV is a program aimed at Primary students who have not obtained good academic results throughout the course and who need reinforcement classes to start the next course in better conditions."
The classes and educational activities of the PAEV will begin on July 5 and will last until August 26. As usual, two shifts will be established. In the first, from 09.00 to 11.00, the students of 2nd, 4th and 6th Primary will participate; while from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. it will be the turn of the 1st, 3rd and 5th-grade students. In these two daily class hours from Monday to Friday, the students of each course will reinforce curricular subjects -such as Mathematics, Spanish Language, Valencian and English-, and will work on study techniques, attention games and verbal and mathematical reasoning.
Registration for the PAEV is now open and can be formalized until June 23 at the Department of Education, located on the third floor of the City Hall, at Plaza SSMM Reyes de España. The general price of the program is 70.04 euros, although there are reduced prices for large families, single parents, families with functional diversity, foster families, or with parents or guardians with a Jove Card, retirees or pensioners. In addition, assistance to the PAEV will be free for large or special single-parent families or with functional diversity greater than 33%.
Moreno has indicated that "as in previous editions, the Department of Education will grant a maximum of 30 individualized grants that will cover 100% of the cost of the program." The granting of these grants will be measured by income and scale criteria. The application can be submitted until June 14.
The councillor has stressed that "both price reductions and scholarships are aimed exclusively at families registered in Benidorm."
