The dog park on Avinguda Bernat de Sarrià already occupies an area of 700 square meters

Benidorm includes an 'Agility' area in Rincón de Loix

26 January 2022
Benidorm incorpora una zona ‘Agility’ al Benicán del Rincón de Loix

Benidorm has a new exclusive area for games, activities and 'Agility' training for dogs that has been incorporated into Benicán in Rincón de Loix, on Avenida Bernat de Sarrià, next to  Antonio López Football Fields.

This new 'Agility' space responds "to requests from citizens" and the needs of their pets, therefore the City Council is "little by little fulfilling with the requests in each of our neighbourhoods", said the Councilor for Public Space, José Ramón González de Zárate .
With the incorporation of this exercise equipment, the dog park adds space to reach 700 m2 with elements such as seesaw, dribbling, or slalom, among others. "A gym - González de Zárate specified - so that our pets can be fit" and try to improve their physical condition "together with their owners".

González de Zárate has stressed that Benidorm has seven areas dedicated to dogs. To that of Rincón de Loix we must add those of La Cala, on Marina Alta Avenue; Els Tolls, on Italia street; Colonia Madrid, in Foietes Park (with an 'Agility' zone); and three "for use by all" in Vía Parque, on Vicente Pérez Devesa avenue (with an 'Agility' zone) and another on Presidente Adolfo Suárez street (with an 'Agility' zone); and the “very large” one in Parque de l’Aigüera leisure park.

On the other hand, the councilor has appealed to the public to take care of the maintenance of the dog parks. "I ask you - he has abounded - to take your pets as if they were at home." Let them think that “the street is an extension of the living room at home”. "It's not hard to pick up an excrement, or a urine."

González de Zárate has added that the Department of Street Cleaning (which he directs), in collaboration with the department of Citizenship Security, an “inspection” and control task is being carried out to locate the offenders “who do not collect the excrement of their street pets.
