Benidorm hosts on Sunday the start of the last stage of Costa Blanca Bike Race
Benidorm hosts this Sunday, 3 February, the start of the fourth and final stage of the V Costa Blanca Bike Race (CBBR), international mountain race included in the UCI calendar that has begun to run today in Finestrat and in the next days will tour the Marina Baixa. Around 500 cyclists, between professionals and amateurs, of more than 20 nationalities will take the start of the last stage of the race, the only one at national level that is disputed by couples. Among the participants are active or retired cyclists like 'Purito' Rodríguez or Haimar Zubeldia.
The Councilor for Sports, Arturo Cabrillo, explained that the test will start at 10.00 am from Avenida Vicente Llorca Alós towards Mont Benidorm avenue. From there, the corridors will link up with Villajoyosa avenue towards the municipality of Finestrat.
On the occasion of the assembly and development of the test, traffic cuts are planned in several streets of La Cala. Specifically, on Saturday, September 2, Vicente Llorca Alós Avenue will be closed to traffic on the section between Alfàs del Pi and Murtal streets between 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm, and on Sunday 3 from 06:00 and 12:00 hours to proceed with the assembly. and disassembly of the output. In addition, between 09.00 and 11.00 hours on Sunday 3, it will not be possible to drive along Mont Benidorm Avenue and along the stretch of Villajoyosa Avenue, which runs between Benissa Street and the municipal area of Finestrat. The Department of Mobility have pointed out that some adjacent streets could also be affected.
