From yesterday and until Saturday 27, Benidorm will host one of the most important MICE-focused professional forums in the world, the "M & I Forum Benidorm", in which 195 travel agents and events from all over the world participate. Europe and that they will meet and share space with about 280 providers (destinations, hotels, venues, etc).
Three of the hotels that generate more business in the MICE industry in Benidorm, such as Asia Gardens, Meliá Villaitana and Gran Hotel Luxor, are responsible for hosting the group and offer their best rooms to carry out more than 8,700 appointments between buyers and sellers that will be carried out during the next three days.
The event kicked off Wednesday with a networking dinner for the entire group in the Iberia Village area of the Terra Mítica theme park and will also feature a gala dinner at the cupola of the Meliá Villaitana hotel church.
Visit Benidorm Foundation, with the collaboration of Costa Blanca Board of Trustees and Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, has prepared a complete program of activities for the participants in the forum, which will take place during Friday afternoon. Both travel agents and suppliers will be able to enjoy options such as; kayak routes, diving baptisms, karting championships, jeep tours, or a catamaran ride through the cliffs of Sierra Helada natural park.
Visit Benidorm will also count during the 3 days of the event, with a shared table thanks to which you can hold 45 face-to-face meetings with travel agents and event organizers from all over Europe, assuming this one more opportunity to strengthen ties and contacts that can bring business to the city in the future.
The industry of meetings tourism and MICE continues to grow year after year, placing Spain as the fourth country in reception of business tourism during 2017.
In the case of Benidorm, during 2018 more than 150 business trips or incentives were carried out in which more than 40,000 MICE tourists participated. If we add to these data that Benidorm already has more than 2,300 beds focused solely on meeting clients, it is clear that Benidorm is a destination that is increasingly positioned in this product.
Therefore, Visit Benidorm is aware that it must continue to bet on this product in order to continue to seasonally adapt the arrival of tourists to the city and increase the revenue share, since the MICE tourist is characterized by traveling during the low season (March - May and October - November) as for its high purchasing capacity.
