Greenweekend is celebrated from 29 September to 1 October in Dinapsis
Registration is free and open to entrepreneurs, companies and candidates from the environmental sector
Benidorm will host the weekend of September 29 an event focused on promoting ideas and projects linked to the green economy and generate employment in the environmental sector. The mayor, Toni Pérez, and Enviroo, Agustín Valentín-Gamaro, presented this morning the Greenweekend Benidorm, which will take place at Dinapsis, the innovation center of Hidraqua and Suez.
The mayor explained that this "powerful" event is conceived as a "meeting point for companies, entrepreneurs and candidates in the environmental sector." Some profiles that "during the weekend will be able to make professional contacts and present and promote their projects, with the aim of launching new sustainable companies and reinforce the human resources and competitiveness of those that already work".
Pérez stressed that between September 29 and October 1 Greenweekend will make Benidorm "the center of dynamization and boost of the green economy", adding that this event "fits perfectly with the DNA of the city and with which we have been talking a lot in the last 20 months in line with the aspiration to be the first Intelligent Tourist Destination: innovation, accessibility and technology in the service of sustainability.
The director of Enviroo, for his part, has detailed that during the Greenweekend "we are going to launch business ideas that have a positive impact on the environment and that are fixed in the territory", and has anticipated that between 20 and 30 participants are expected and the presentation of some 15 or 20 ideas.
As for the programming, on Friday each participant will have two minutes to present his idea. Around the top five, chosen by the attendees, will create work teams that will be supported by mentors during the weekend and will receive training talks on business models, online marketing and presentation of the project to potential investors.
On Sunday, a jury of specialists will evaluate the five ideas to choose the three finalists who will receive awards such as "training, so they can launch their idea in free work spaces" and "mentoring by entities, entrepreneurs or entrepreneurs with experience ".
Participation in the event is free - with a refundable deposit of 20 euros to reserve the place - and the inscriptions can be made through the web benidorm.greenweekend.org.
This meeting for professionals and entrepreneurs of one of the sectors that generate the highest quality of employment, adds up to the moment 19 editions in different Spanish cities. Over 650 participants have so far attended and more than 70 sustainable projects have been launched.
Thanks to the collaboration of the Benidorm City Council, with the support of Fundación Aquae, Mapfre, Bankinter, Suez, Hidraqua, FCC and Atua Servicios Medioambientales, attendance at this new edition in Benidorm will be free.
