Benidorm hosts the 3rd Meteorology, Tourism and Media Conference

Benidorm will host the 3rd Meteorology, Tourism, and Media Conference on May 16 and 17. This event, in collaboration with the Department of the Environment, headed by Mónica Gómez, will bring together professionals from all over Spain who will share studies, reflections, and conclusions of general interest. These conferences, open to the public, will take place at El Torrejó municipal centre and can be streamed on the 8 Mediterráneo YouTube channel.
Among the professionals attending the conference are meteorologists from various television stations, such as Castilla-La Mancha Media, Eitb, Aragón TV, Àpunt, and RTPA, who will record their news and weekend specials in Benidorm.
The 3rd La 8 Mediterráneo Meteorology, Tourism, and Media Conference will begin on Friday, May 16, in the afternoon, with presentations by Jorge Olcina, Professor of Regional Geographic Analysis at the University of Alicante, and Luis Guanter, Professor of Applied Physics at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Following the presentations, there will be a roundtable discussion, "The water that falls from the sky, where does it go?", followed by a guided tour of the Dinapsis centre.
On Saturday, May 17, Ángel Rivera, former spokesperson for AEMET, will open the conference with a talk on the phenomena that occurred in the province of Valencia on the fateful day of October 29. Subsequently, two roundtable discussions will address topics such as misinformation and hoaxes in meteorology and the media, and the concept of degrowth.
