Benidorm highlights the absence of significant incidents in entertainment venues during the World Cup
The Security Board takes stock of the recently concluded sporting event and analyzes the actions carried out during the summer season
The Local Security Board meeting held yesterday in Benidorm highlighted the absence of any significant incidents in the city during the recently concluded World Cup and the success of the security operation prepared for the event, coinciding with matches between countries that bring a significant number of tourists to Benidorm.
The meeting also analyzed the security plan organized for the peak season and the "positive results" being achieved, according to the Councilor for Citizen Security, Jesús Carrobles. "We shared the preparations made by the different security forces for the summer, as well as the actions that have been carried out and those currently underway," he added.
The Security Board meeting, chaired by Mayor Toni Pérez, was attended by representatives of the National Police, the Regional Police, the Civil Guard, and the Local Police, as well as the Deputy Government Delegate in Alicante, Manuel Pineda, and the Councilor for Security of Benidorm himself. Carrobles himself explained that the decision was made “to hold this Security Meeting after the World Cup to have more data available for analyzing the summer's security situation.”
In this regard, Carrobles highlighted the “magnificent results” achieved during the World Cup “thanks to the security measures implemented and the excellent work and coordination of all the security forces.” This resulted in those days passing “without any serious incidents during matches considered potentially problematic or high-risk” in the city's entertainment venues.
The Councilor for Public Service also specified that “in general, the reported data is quite good,” and therefore, emphasis was placed on “continuing with the preparations and measures organized for the summer to ensure that security and the perception of security remain the dominant theme.”
At that point, Carrobles also highlighted the positive results of the "Safe Holidays" information campaign, launched annually to enhance the tourist experience. This campaign includes health and safety recommendations to help tourists avoid becoming victims of illegal activities. Information panels, posters, billboards, and digital displays, as well as information are uesed at beach access points and the distribution of flyers to accommodations, shops, and leisure and restaurant establishments.

Furthermore, the councilor presided yesterday over the presentation of diplomas to the participants of the training session organized by the National Police Corps and the Local Police on the ‘Joint Action Protocol with Firefighters,’ which was held weeks ago at the La Torreta community center. Carrobles emphasized that “security and emergencies are not about colors or different uniforms,” but rather about “coordination, commitment, and a vocation for service,” and affirmed that meetings like this “are fundamental for anticipating and improving our capacity and response.”
