The City Council receives direct help from the Ministry to further subsidize the service

As of today and until June 30, the students of the municipal school transport will pay half for using this service to travel to the educational centers. As reported today by the mayor, Toni Pérez, "Benidorm City Council has reduced the price of the ticket for users of the 'Municipal School Voucher' by more than 50%, who are already going to pay 0.26 euros per trip in place of 0.54”.

The mayor has indicated that "from the City Council we continue to promote measures to support citizens at a time when inflation is having an impact on the household economy, in this case also promoting and favoring the use of collective transport, a more sustainable option.

Toni Pérez recalled that coinciding with the start of this 2022/2023 academic year, "the City Council applied a 30% bonus to the price of the 'Municipal School Bonus', which was in force until December 31". "Now, we resume these aids, expanding the City Council bonus and reducing the price paid by the user by more than 50%."

The remaining cost of the ticket, which is not paid by the user, “will be directly borne by the City Council, which will pay that amount to the company that provides the service.

Part of this cost will be financed from the direct aid requested from the Ministry of Transport, Mobility, and Urban Agenda for the reduction of the transport ticket for regular users, and the remaining percentage will be assumed with resources from the City Council itself.

In total, approximately 300 high school students and cycles in Benidorm have a 'Municipal School Voucher' and use the transport service regularly. To them are added the students of the Infant and Primary schools located in the Salt de l'Aigua complex,  Mestre Gaspar López, and Gabriel Miró, whose transportation is 100% assumed by the Department of Education.
