Benidorm City Council will give "priority" to the study of the basic and activity project of the new health center in Rincon de Loix presented "late yesterday" by the Department of Universal Health and Public Health, as reported today the Town Planning Councilor, Lourdes Caselles. The councillor has indicated that instructions have been given to technicians in the areas of Urban Planning and Openings "to promptly inform" both documents in order to process environmental and works licenses so that "this health center, so demanded and so necessary, be a reality as soon as possible ”.
Caselles stressed that "from the City Council we met from the minute one with all the requirements that have been requested to us by the Ministry" in relation to the new health center. Thus, “the plot of 3,558 square meters on Zamora Street was transferred, next to the football fields‘ Antonio López ’; the legal qualification of the same was changed; and even the General Plan was modified to release the urban parameters of municipal endowment soils to expedite both the construction of this health center and the Police Station of the National Police ”.
Therefore, “since we have shown at all times our willingness and speed in relation to this project of the health center, we hope that from the Department they take little time to tender the works, and that once tendered and awarded they take too little time to present the execution project ”.
In this regard, he recalled that the budget for 2020 presented by the area minister, Ana Barceló, only includes an investment of 160,000 euros for the health center of Rincon de Loix and delays the bulk of the investment to 2021 and 2022, which It reaches 3.6 million euros.
“From the government of Benidorm, and we are sure that, like a good part of the citizens, we hope that Generalitat Valenciana will think again this decision and accept the amendment that the popular group in Les Corts will present to program this work and substantially increase the budget planned for next year, otherwise we will have to wait more than two years to have the new health center in Rincon de Loix, ”she added. A delay, she added, would harm "severely the very important number of health cards that have the reference center in the current ambulatory in Rincon de Loix."
