Benidorm, at the Fitur Screen presentation of the new Movistar + series, ‘Paraíso’
Benidorm has participated today in the presentation of the new Movistar + Paraíso series, which has been held at Fitur Screen, the space for film tourism at Madrid International Tourism Fair and in which the city is also present with its Film Office department. The fiction, directed by Fernando González Molina and set in the 90s, has been shot in locations in the Valencian Community and especially in the province of Alicante, including Benidorm.
Specifically, the team of the series chose one of the locations most requested by audiovisual productions filming in the city: Torre de les Caletes road. Just one of the shots in this location - in which the 17th century watchtower can be seen - has been included in the trailer of the series that has been seen on Fitur Screen.
During the presentation of the series, the mayor, Toni Pérez, indicated that “since the possibility of being one of the locations in the series was proposed to us, we supported the project: a production by Fernando González Molina could not be more that a series that will be at the height of the Spanish fiction of recent times ”.
Toni Pérez has added that Paraíso represents "what as a territory we are looking for through the commitment we make to launch the municipal Film Offices: an attractive product that hits the viewer", and that makes them seek "to live experiences and emotions in the locations that he has seen on screen ”.
Likewise, he has stressed that “behind each sequence recorded abroad there is a lot of work from our technicians, from our municipal services, all of them must be coordinated and ready to respond to the needs of the production companies.
In addition to the mayor, the regional secretary for Tourism, Francesc Colomer; and the director of the Costa Blanca Tourist Board, José Mancebo have been present.
