Benidorm Fest 2024 starts with the Orange Carpet

With the Presentation Gala and its Orange Carpet, the third edition of Benidorm Fest begins to choose the song and the artist who will represent Spain in Eurovision 2024, that this year will celebrate its 68 edition next May in Sweeden in the city of Malmö.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the Councilor for Festivals and Events, Jesús Carrobles, the Councilor for Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Nuria Montes and the director of Studies and Technical Media of RTVE, José Luis Muñiz, welcomed the participants in this year's edition and the invited artists shortly before the start of the event that was held in Benidorm Palace night club.

At 8:30 p.m., the traditional photocall began, attended by the 16 artists who will participate in the contest: Almacor, Angy Fernández, Delacruz, Jorge González, Lérica, Mantra, María Pelaé, Marlena, Miss Caffeína, Nebulossa, Noan, Quique Niza, Roger Padrós, Sofía Coll, St. Pedro and Yoly Saa. The presenters also posed: Ruth Lorenzo, Marc Calderó and Ana Prada.

At 10:00 p.m. the show arrived with performances by Blanca Paloma, winner of the Benidorm Fest 2023, and Sandra Valero, representative of Spain in the last edition of Junior Eurovision, in which she came in second position. The communications director of TVE, María Eizaguirre, presented the event that also featured the great DJ Tony Aguilar.

Most of the cast of artists who competed in the 2023 edition of Benidorm Fest were present at the gala to show their support for this year's contestants.

The first semi-final of Benidorm Fest will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, January 30, at  Palau d'Esports l'Illa in Benidorm and will feature performances by Angy Fernández, Lérica, Mantra, Miss Caffeina, Nebulossa, Noan, Quique Niza and Sofía Coll. The second will be on Thursday, February 1, on the same stage. Almácor, Dellacruz, Jorge González, María Peláe, MARLENA, Roger Padrós and Yoly Saa will compete in it.

The artists classified in the semifinals will participate in the Grand Final on Saturday the 3rd from which the song that will represent Spain in Eurovision 2024 will emerge. We must remember that. The winner (winner or winners) of Benidorm Fest 2024 will be decided by a mixed vote between a professional jury (50%), demoscopic voting (25%) and the public through telephone calls and/or SMS (25%).

At the same time, on days when there is no official competition, Eurofans will be able to enjoy the Euroclub, which offers a great party on Wednesday, January 31 at Ku disco with performances by Sofía Martín, Megara and Meler, in addition to Álvaro Montes, Fururachicapop, Jennifer Rojo, JKbello, KUVE, Lucas Bun, Mercedes Ferrer, MONT3RO, Roberto Muriel, Sienna, Sila Lua and Verónica Terres.

Likewise, on Friday, February 2, at Plaza de la Hispanidad and the Tecnohito will take place the Gran Fiesta Euroclub Internacional, with a free entry which will feature performances by Blanca Palona, Gonzalo Hermida, Rosa López, Sharonne and the semi-finalists of Benidorm Fest 2024 unclassified.

Benidorm Fest Grand Final party will also return to this emblematic Tecnohito stage the next day where it will be broadcast on giant screens and will feature animated DJ performances.
