Benidorm extends the deadline for new grants to local commerce and the type of commercial establishments that can request them

Benidorm extends the deadline for new grants to local commerce and the type of commercial establishments that can request them...

Benidorm City Council has extended the deadline to request new aid aimed at local retail trade to minimize the impact of Covid-19, as well as the type of commercial establishments that can benefit from them, as reported today by the councilor of Employment and Local Development, Mónica Gómez. Thus, the Local Government Board (JGL) today approved modifying the bases to include these two extensions, "extending these aid to more establishments and giving SMEs, micro-SMEs and freelancers who carry out their commercial activity in Benidorm more time to present their request".

Gómez has indicated that the deadline for submitting applications is extended three days more than expected, until 11:59 p.m. on November 15. The procedure must be carried out electronically through the municipal Website (https://sede.benidorm.org/catalogo-de-servicios/DIPCOV/).

With regard to the type of businesses that can benefit from the call, the mayor explained that "initially it was foreseen that SMEs and freelancers registered on March 14 in group 65 of the Economic Activities Tax could apply for the aid. , with the exception of groups 652 and 655, and sections 6532, 6534, 6535 and 6592 ". However, "after the amendment approved today, it has been established that the following headings are eligible for aid":

6522: Retail trade of drugstore, perfumery and cosmetic products, cleaning, paints, varnishes, solvents, papers and other products for decoration and chemical products.
6523: Retail trade of perfumery and cosmetic products, and articles for hygiene and personal hygiene.
6524: Retail sale of plants and herbs in herbalists.
6534: Retail trade of construction materials and articles and furniture for sanitation.
6535: Retail trade of doors, windows and shutters, moldings and frames, flooring and parquet-mosaic, basketry and cork articles.
(Therefore, the businesses of group 655 and headings 6521 and 6532 continue to be excluded).

Likewise, the call has been extended to commercial establishments registered in groups 613, 614 –except for those included in section 614.1- and 619 –except those in section 619.8).

The councillor has stressed that "SMEs and freelancers registered in the groups and headings indicated who suspended their activity due to the entry into force of the state of alarm or, failing that, who saw the invoicing of the establishment of the months of April and May at least 50% with respect to the previous calendar semester ”.

Gómez recalled that this new line of aid is financed through a subsidy of 196,960 euros granted by the Alicante Provincial Council, and initially they provide a maximum amount per establishment of 400 euros. However, if with the approved applications the reserved budget is not exhausted, the aid per commercial establishment will be increased according to the number of beneficiaries.
