Benidorm expresses rejection of the last macho crime committed in El Rubio (Sevilla)
There are already nine women killed so far this year and 1,191 since 2003
The Municipal Corporation of Benidorm has kept this noon a minute of silence as a sample of condemnation and repulsion for the last crime of macho violence committed in the Sevillian town of El Rubio, in which the victim, a 17 -year -old woman was killed by her couple on February 27.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez has silently headed the concentration in which the most absolute rejection of any type of gender violence has been shown.
The event took place on February 27 when the woman was shot by her partner, a 22 -year -old man. The victim had no children or minor daughters and there were no previous complaints of gender violence against the alleged aggressor.
With this, there are already nine women killed in what we have in 2023 and 13 minors who have been orphaned because of gender violence in our country. The number of women killed since 2003 amounts to 1,191.
Given any risk situation, the Department of Equality recalls that the City Council has specialized gender violence personnel who can provide free advice to any woman who feels threatened.
It also reiterates, that the victims have the free telephone 016 against gender violence, which leaves no trace in the telephone bill, although it is advisable to eliminate it from the call record. The service attends 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, and in 52 languages.
