Empleo Covid

Throughout the week, 57 young people from EMPUJU program will join, the other program also co-financed with European funds through LABORA

84 people of at least 30 years of age hired for a year within the great employment plan promoted by the City Council, and co-financed with European funds through LABORA, have already joined their positions. If on Friday 29 people who will provide service in the Public Space departmnet did it, this Monday the remaining 55 have done it, who will carry out work of attention to the public in educational centers, social centers, library, Tossal de la Cala, administrative extensions and departments such as Town Planning, Culture, Employment, Personnel or Cemeteries, among others.
The acting mayor, Ana Pellicer; the Councilor for Employment and Local Development, Mónica Gómez; and the councillor of Human Resources, Ángela Zaragozí, have welcomed this staff and have informed them about the functions they will perform during the next 12 months.
The Councilor for Employment recalled that "the hiring of this staff is part of the ECOVID program, one of the two programs that make up the great municipal employment plan, which reaches 3.7 million euros, of which about 1 , 4 million euros are provided by the City Council ”. The remaining 2.3 million euros are resources from the European Social Fund, through LABORA within the framework of the 2014-2020 Operational Program of the Valencian Community.
Gómez has specified that "to ECOVID program EMPUJU is added, aimed at the unemployed population under 30 years old and which has allowed the hiring of another 57 people, who also join their positions this week."
“With this great employment plan we are reaching the entire working population, and injecting the economy into more than 140 homes in Benidorm, convinced that the best social policy is the promotion of employment and the generation of opportunities. And to this end, we are allocating a significant volume of the City Council's own resources and trying to attract subsidies from other public administrations in order to reach as many people as possible ”, she added.

Details of ECOVID and EMPUJU programs

ECOVID program is endowed with 2 million euros, of which the City Council contributes about 750,000. The remaining amount, just over 1.2 million euros, is financed with resources from the European Social Fund, through LABORA within the framework of the 2014-2020 Operational Program of the Valencian Community (Avalem Experiència Plus). ECOVID has led to 84 hires. In addition to 55 people for customer service in different departments and municipal facilities, 10 building maintainers, four electricians, seven forest laborers and eight public works laborers have been hired
EMPUJU program reaches 1.7 million euros. The City Council contributes more than 625,000 euros, thus complementing the LABORA subsidy of 1.1 million euros also from the European Social Fund within the same Operational Program. 57 young people benefit from this program.
All the people have been hired through a selection process based on the instructions of the General Directorate of LABORA, carried out by this body and the City Council, in which the unions have also participated.
