Antonio López football fields debut new artificial turf
Field 2 is already in service and field 1 is expected to be operational this week if the weather doesn't stop it.
Antonio López del Rincón de Loix football pitches replace the old artificial turf with a new, latest generation one approved by the Royal Spanish Football Federation and UEFA for their official competitions.
The large use of municipal facilities and the large number of activities that take place throughout the year had spoiled the surface of the two playing fields, so the Department of Sports has opted for the replacement. The works have been carried out in recent weeks and have been carried out by Mondo, a leading company in the sector, based in Zaragoza.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros, have checked on the spot the characteristics of the new surface while the technicians completed the work on Field 1 that is scheduled to be ready this week, at The weather permits it, while in Camp 2, already operational, some users practiced their favorite sport.
Cebreros highlighted that the new artificial grass offers "excellent sporting and technical performance" and that it stands out for "guaranteeing maximum resistance to the loss of initial rigidity with the greatest softness". "The new fibers - has specified the mayor - incorporate a stabilizer for ultraviolet radiation that favors resistance to atmospheric agents or solar radiation, thereby maintaining their aesthetic and sports performance for longer."
The Councilor for Sports has added that they have also placed "eight new goals for the practice of soccer 8" that incorporate improvements such as "a new anchoring system" that provides "greater security" to users of Antonio López facilities.
