Hundreds of 5th and 6th grade school children will participate today and tomorrow
Benidorm Children's Sports Fair returns to Palau for Christmas
Today and tomorrow, around 2,000 schoolchildren, 5th and 6th grade students from schools of the city, will enjoy the ninth edition of Children's Sports Fair, organized by the Department of Sports, which is celebrated, as each year, at Palau d'Esports l'Illa in Benidorm, shortly before Christmas holidays.
This morning, the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, together with the councillors of Sports, Arturo Cabrillo, of Employment and Local Development, Mª Jesús Pinto, and the councillor Bernardo Mira, accompanied the children in the development of the activities . The children have been moved from their schools by buses chartered for this purpose by the City Council.
For the correct development of the activities, the City Council has made available to children 22 municipal sports technicians, 52 collaborating monitors of TAFAD cycle Qualified professional in Animation and Physical and Sports Activities) of the International School Lope de Vega and 10 more than mixed employment and training program, T'Avalem, who belong to the Department of Employment.
Throughout these two days, students can enjoy games and sports activities such as colpbol, frisbee, raspall, fronton, one wall, tennis, paddle, handball, human football, archery, basketball, badminton, shuttleball, chess, darts, aerobics, pin-pon, floorball and goalball. In addition there will also be inflatable American track castle, The Avengers, Wipaot and giant balls.
On the other hand, the Department of Sports has installed in the Palau a Christmas tree where people can deposit food that will be distributed to people in need during these Christmas holidays.
