The project is to build a new building next to the tourist office and create an independent space for each service
The work will be completed by the first quarter of 2017
The construction of the new office for Service of Foreign Tourist Assistance (SATE) in Rincón de Loix, have started this morning, as reported by the councillor for Urbanism, Lourdes Caselles. This new office, which will replace the one located in the city center, El Torrejó, will be located next to the site occupied by the tourist office of Rincón de Loix, at the confluence of Gerona and Derramador streets. Caselles recalled that in the new building will coexist SATE and the tourist office. Both offices have "separate entrances, but will be connected for better internal operations and provide better service for users". The current premises of the tourist office will operate in the same place until the launch of the new one. In addition the new facilities will have a waiting room reserved for the translation service space; while the tourist office will also have a warehouse. In the building there will also be a checkpoint of the local police, toilets, meeting room and a telecommunications room. The responsible for Urbanism explained that "it was decided to move the SATE office to Rincón de Loix because there, they are the largest number of foreign tourists visiting Benidorm. Caselles stressed that "not only the location of this service for foreign tourists is improved, but also its dependencies, which will be more functional and more spacious than the current ones for both, users and workers feel more comfortable." The total cost of the works is 181,199.99 euros and the execution period of the works is five months, but it is expected to finish the work before the deadline. In any case, the new building of SATE and the tourist office will be operational during the first quarter of next year.
