The action, the main project of the Participatory Budgets, has a budget of 310,559.33 euros

Benidorm begins the tender for the 'Landscaping improvement project on Marina Alta Avenue'

Campaña A pie de calle.

Benidorm City Council will begin next week the procedures for the tender for the project 'Landscaping improvement on Marina Alta Avenue', once it has been ruled by the Urban Planning Information Commission and approved by the subsequent Local Government Board, as reported today the Councilor for Public Space, José Ramón González de Zárate.

The action has a budget of 310,559.33 euros and is the main intervention planned in the Participatory Budgets approved by the Neighborhood Council. For this reason, the campaign 'A pie de calle' has moved to the area. There have been, in addition to the mayor of Public Space, the councillor for Citizen Participation, Ana Pellicer; the vice president of the Neighborhood Council, Manuel Sánchez Notario, and several residents of the neighbourhood with whom some details of the action have been discussed.

"With this intervention that the neighbours asked us for through the Participatory Budgets, we acted in a semi-forest area that was in a degraded state and we turned it into a new park with bio-healthy areas, agility for pets, children's games, gardens, etc." Pellicer pointed out.

The mayor has also highlighted the fact that the municipally owned plot is very close to the health centre, the CDT and CEIP La Cala. "The decision was made to tidy up this area and create a public park for the use and enjoyment of residents and visitors" explained Pellicer, who added that the main objective is "to create a reference green area that will become a meeting point".

The intervention includes total fencing of the area of action, selective clearing, setting out to execute the paths, new public lighting, planting of natural grass, drip irrigation system, installation of children's and bio-healthy games and safety pruning in the existing pines. In addition, the installation of safety or cushioning floor is contemplated "to mitigate the impacts of possible falls of children."

The estimated term for carrying out these works is four months once the contract has been awarded and signed.

In today's visit, the neighbours have also been able to check the status of the action that is being carried out on this same avenue with the renovation of the drinking water pipes and improvement of the pavement, an action carried out by the Hidraqua concessionaire with the charge to the Investment Fund, with a budget of 203,629 euros.
