Benidorm begins the renovation of the pending section of Ametlla del Mar
The pavement is also renewed through the Maintenance and improvement of the public road contract
This week the remodeling work on Ametlla del Mar avenue begins on the stretch pending updating: the one between Juan Fuster Zaragoza avenue and Zamora street. The Councilor for Works, José Ramón González de Zárate, reported that “this action includes the renovation of the drinking water network, as well as the pavement of the sidewalks, which will follow the same aesthetic as in the rest of Ametlla del Mar and in the one that eliminates all the architectural barriers by means of lugs to guarantee the total accessibility ”. In this way, “we completed the updating of the Ametlla del Mar avenue, one of the main arteries of the Rincon de Loix, in which last year a little more than 1.1 million euros was invested in renewing the stretch between the Mediterranean and Juan Fuster Zaragoza ”.
De Zárate explained that the part of the action linked to the renovation of the potable water network is valued at 64,608.35 euros and is executed under the 2020-2027 Investment Plan of the concessionary company, Hidraqua. An Investment Plan that reaches 26.5 million euros.
The mayor has indicated that “this work is one of the first actions that we are going to carry out under this plan, since municipal technicians have considered that it is a priority to complete the renovation of the hydraulic infrastructures of Ametlla del Mar in order to start plan the updating of the potable water, sewerage and rainwater network in the upper part of Rincon de Loix ”. In this regard, he added that “to be able to undertake this infrastructure improvement in the upper part of the Rincon de Loix, it was essential to solve the problems presented by the network in the lower part of the neighborhood, something that we have achieved with the comprehensive renovation project of Ametlla del Mar Avenue already executed and with the work that we started now. ”
De Zárate has assured that Rincón de Loix is “one of the neighborhoods where this government team is going to place more emphasis, since it has very outdated underground infrastructure”; and has advanced that "we are already carrying out the renovation projects of two other main avenues: Estocolmo and Monte Carlo." "The idea - he added - is to be able to tender these works in 2020 and start them later this year or early 2021, and then act on the cross streets."
With regard to the urban scene, De Zárate has detailed that “the renovation of the sidewalks of Ametlla del Mar between Juan Fuster Zaragoza and Zamora avenues, is carried out under the Maintenance and improvement of the public road contract”, and that in addition to the pavement, the change also includes the relocation of street lamps.
