Benidorm begins installing children's playgrounds and new trees at Festa Espai

The project represents an investment of 48,339 euros
Benidorm City Council, through the Department of Parks and Gardens, will begin this week an improvement project on the municipal space "Festa Espai," located next to the Vicente Pérez Devesa trinquet, to make the stay of users of this municipal facility more comfortable.
Specifically, a set of children's games and swings will be installed, along with a shock-absorbing floor, in addition to new trees. According to the councilor for the area, José Ramón González de Zárate, who visited the site today before the start of the work with the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the councilor for Festivals, Mariló Cebreros, "with this project, we seek to improve this space so that the people and associations that use it for various events feel more comfortable and their stay is even more enjoyable. In addition, we are also looking after the little ones by installing swings."
To this end, 120 square meters of safety flooring will be installed, complying with European standards UNE 1176 and UNE 1177, for children's play areas and their location. "We already planted trees and installed street furniture, and now we will complete this with more than 100 square meters of flooring and swings so that children can enjoy this space more," stated González de Zárate.
The Councillor for Parks and Gardens also announced that a new tree area will be planted "so that in one or two years we will have more shaded and recreational areas for users." González de Zárate specified that the installation of the children's play areas and the cushioning flooring will begin now, while the planting of the trees will be postponed until October so that the heat does not affect the new trees. All of this will entail an investment of €48,339.50.
"We are carrying out this work now because during the summer months there is less activity and use at this facility, and therefore the potential disruption and interference are much less," he concluded.
