Benidorm begins the installation of the new turf in the field attached to Guillermo Amor stadium

Benidorm inicia la instalación del nuevo césped artificial del campo anexo al estadio Guillermo Amor

Benidorm City Council has already begun the installation of the new artificial turf of the 11-a-side football field attached to Guillermo Amor stadium, once the previous one has been removed. This is an action financed by the Turf Plan 2022 of the Provincial Council of Alicante, which has a budget of 125,114 euros.

The total amount of the operation amounts to 133,100 euros, including the 7,986 euros that the project has cost, which has been financed by Benidorm City Council.

This morning the mayor Toni Pérez and the Councilor for Sports, Javier Jordá, visited the sports facility to see the state of the work and verified that the removal of the old turf has already been completed and piled up in large bags for transport.

The next step will be the installation of the new material, the latest generation, and less abrasive for the users of the soccer field.

The works began this same month of August and the expected execution period is a month and a half so that the complete installation could have been completed by early September to begin its use with the new season.

The Councilor for Sports ratified the "bet" of the local government to "have the best possible facilities" and indicated that "in this case, it was necessary to replace the turf because the old one was old, it had been widely used and our athletes needed this improvement”.

Jordá insisted that the City Council "will continue to invest and seek financing to undertake all the improvements that we believe are necessary for our athletes to practice sports in the best possible conditions."
