Benidorm approves an expenditure of 93,000 euros for grants to students of municipal nursery schools

Benidorm aprueba un gasto de 93.000 euros para ayudas al alumnado de las escuelas infantiles municipales

The Local Government Board (JGL) of Benidorm approved yesterday an expense of 92,795.40 euros to finance individual municipal supplementary teaching aid for students in municipal nursery schools, as explained by the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno.
In the first place, the Governing Board agreed to approve an expense of 37,118.16 euros for grants to students with a view to the last four-month period of 2021 and, on the other hand, it was also approved to acquire the commitment to authorize another expense of 55,677.24 euros to finance these same grants with a view to the first half of 2022.
The councilor has remarked in this regard the "importance" of the municipal kindergarten model "to reduce educational inequalities among young minors", since they are centers "necessary for the development of the youngest by providing them with a pedagogical environment, that favor their abilities and that promote social relations ”.
That is why the Department of Education complements the amounts of the regional aid for schooling with the aim, Moreno said, “that families using the service have a lower cost in it or, if it is the case, totally free ”.
With regard to this course, Benidorm City Council will not have to provide financial resources to make effective free schooling for 2-3 year-old students as the cost is assumed by the Generalitat. "However, the council does have to offer supplementary aid to students aged 0-2 years enrolled in municipal nursery schools" has qualified Moreno, who pointed out that this was the reason "why the Governing Board approved the expense yesterday" .
The Local Government Board also approved yesterday the bases of these grants that, as detailed by Maite Moreno, establish that “minors enrolled in municipal nursery schools who have correctly requested the grant in time and form and in case they could opt for it, and that the minor and the family unit are registered in Benidorm during  2021-22 school year, except in cases of urgent social need ”.
The economic benefits are compatible with other subsidies, grants, income or resources for the same purpose.
