Benidorm allocates 35,000 euros to aid for students of Unión Musical, l'Illa and la Nova
The Local Government Board (JGL) of Benidorm City Council approved this morning the granting of 35,040 euros to finance musical education in music schools or students.
Specifically, Benidorm Unión Musical will receive a grant of 12,000 euros, L'Illa Musical Society will receive the amount of 11,040 euros and, finally, La Nova Musical Society will receive 12,000 euros, according to the proposal presented by the councillors of Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, and Education, Maite Moreno.
These aids were convened on May 9 and, after examining the applications submitted, the Valuation Commission agreed on June 14 to request the Governing Board to grant the aforementioned aid. Now ten days are opened to present allegations and, if there are none, the concession will be understood as final.
The aid is granted, as explained by the Councilor for Culture to "support and promote the cultural work carried out by the three musical entities of the city, training the future musicians of Benidorm". The City Council will allocate 3,440 euros more this year than in 2021.
Pérez has clarified that "the amount granted to each one is established based on objective criteria such as the number of students being educated, the staff of the band itself and the annual calculation of expenses related to the school."
The Councilor for Culture has highlighted "the effort, not only economic, made by the musical entities of Benidorm from June 2020 to recover their activity as soon as possible and in safe conditions, both in terms of rehearsals and classes and concerts". This allowed the city, he continued, "to be able to enjoy different recitals throughout the year, thus promoting a culture".
The amount granted can be used to finance the school for students, the acquisition and repair of computer tools and equipment or to cover travel related to their activity.
The Councilor for Culture has recognized "the extensive pedagogical action carried out by the three musical entities by training the new generations of musicians in their classrooms." "Many of these students -he pointed out later go to the 'José Pérez Barceló' Municipal Conservatory, to take professional degree courses and many join the city's bands to play 'amateur' or end up dedicating themselves professionally to music. music".
