Benidorm adapts Las Terrazas park and ride parking space for the high season
The Mobility Department of Benidorm City Council has begun action on the park-and-ride parking located on the plot of the old Las Terrazas building to leave it in perfect condition for the high season so that users have more parking facilities. your vehicle and gain security for the people who circulate in the area.
The main tasks will focus on conditioning the pavement and eliminating existing sinkholes and unevenness that have formed over time.
These works also aim to improve the occupation of the plot by vehicles.
Las Terrazas park and ride, which was visited this morning by Mayor Toni Pérez and the Councilor for Mobility, Francis Muñoz, came into operation in May 2019 with an area of 3,730 square meters and the capacity to house nearly 200 vehicles.
Muñoz has specified that weed-clearing work will also be carried out on this plot and surrounding areas, removing some graffiti and replacing some damaged light fixtures. "These works are within the commitments acquired by the City Council with the community of owners of Las Terrazas according to which the City Council is responsible for the maintenance and conservation tasks, regulating the surface and accommodating it so that pedestrians can move safely” he indicated.
Parking on this site, on the front line of Levante Beach, has been free since it was put into service, although those not registered in Benidorm can only use it based on their vehicle's registration number. Those whose registration number ends in an even number can park on even days and those with an odd registration number can park on odd days. Residents can park any day.
"What is sought with this is to guarantee the rotation of vehicles for a maximum of 24 hours," said Muñoz, who added that with this measure "we avoid long stays of vehicles, which is also beneficial for commerce and the restoration of area".
The duration of this intervention will not exceed three days, “so it will be fully operational and cleaned up for the summer and the inconvenience to regular users will be minimized,” Muñoz concluded.
