The Councilor for Beaches collects the awards from Minister Reyes Maroto
The beaches of Benidorm obtain the 'Q' flags for Tourist Quality and the Safe Tourism award
Just one day after receiving the Qualitur flag, the beaches of Poniente, Levante and Mal Pas in Benidorm have obtained a new recognition for their excellence: the 'Q' flag for Tourist Quality, awarded by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism through the Institute for Spanish Tourist Quality (ICTE). A distinction to which, for the second consecutive year, they also add the 'Safe Tourism Certified' seal, which confirms the implementation of health risk prevention systems against Covid-19.
The Councilor for Beaches, Mónica Gómez, today collected these badges for the three beaches from the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, at an event held at the ICTE headquarters in Madrid and in which also participated the president of this organization, Miguel Mirones.
Gómez highlighted that "the Levante, Poniente and Mal Pas beaches have revalidated the 'Q' flag for Quality and the 'Safe Tourism' seal after successfully passing exhaustive audits that are carried out throughout the year and in which The quality and cleanliness of the water and sand, the hygienic conditions, the physical and health safety protocols, the facilities, the security and first aid services, the leisure offer and the information offered to users are evaluated”.
The mayor has stressed that "all these distinctions confirm Benidorm's beaches as a benchmark for quality at a national level", and certify "the clear commitment to constant improvement" and "the determined vocation for sustainable management that is carried out from the city and destiny”.
