A third lane will be built so that vehicles heading to Av. De la Comunitat Valenciana from Europa Av. avoid the roundabout

The Asphalting Plan starts in Lepanto, Ibiza and Cuenca streets and Bernat de Sarrià Avenue

12 November 2020
El Pla d'Asfalt s'endinsa als carrers Lepant, Eivissa, Conca i en l'avinguda Bernat de Sarrià...

The works are part of the 2020 Asphalt and Accessibility Plan, which has a budget of 1,700,000 euros.

Benidorm City Council will asphalt Lepanto Street from Orts Llorca to Europa Avenue and Cuenca Street, roads that have been affected by the carrying out of works around them and the installation of different public services. This has been announced today by the Councilor for Public Space, José Ramón González de Zárate, at the meeting with neighborhood residents who, like every Thursday, convene the Department of Citizen Participation, led by Ana Pellicer, and the Neighborhood Council.

González de Zárate has indicated that the action will conclude "before the end of the year", framed within the 2020 Asphalt and Accessibility Plan that, it should be remembered, has a budget of 1,700,000 euros.

The asphalt machines will not finish their work here. They will continue towards the confluence of Ibiza street with Pueblo Hotel, Filipinas street, entering Rincón de Loix from Bernat de Sarrià Avenue.

The second municipal intervention announced today that will be carried out shortly will be the construction of a third access lane from Europa Avenue in the direction of the Valencian Community Avenue, towards the orchard "without having to enter the roundabout" and without the need for making "no turn, or be in contact with other vehicles", stressed González de Zárate. An action, similar to the one carried out to facilitate access to the city for vehicles that take that same roundabout in the direction of Alfonso Puchades. With this, the councillor has emphasized, it is intended to "avoid dangerousness" in the incorporation of vehicles.

For its part, the person in charge of Citizen Participation has specified that both actions are "at the request of the neighbors." As a result of the periodic meetings that both councilors, together with those responsible for the Neighborhood Council, hold with the neighborhood associations. Some very "important" neighborhood meetings because "apart from the actions carried out by the administration - Ana Pellicer said - without the contributions, without the ideas and the day-to-day life of our neighbors, we could do little things."

Pellicer has taken the opportunity to summon individual neighborhood associations and residents who wish to participate next Thursday in a new meeting that will take place in the center, at the confluence of Marte street with Tomás Ortuño street.
