The agreement between Hosbec and Diputación consolidates the work of Benidorm and the Costa Blanca

18 October 2017
El convenio entre Hosbec y Diputación afianza el trabajo de Benidorm y de la Costa Blanca

Benidorm consolidates this year the 11.5 million overnight stays and is located as third peninsular destination

The municipal building of El Torrejó, this morning welcomed the signing of the collaboration agreement between the Diputación de Alicante and the Hostel Business Association of Benidorm, Costa Blanca and the Comunitat Valenciana (HOSBEC). The event has included, among other personalities, the presence of the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the president of the Diputación, César Sánchez; the president of the hoteliers, Toni Mayor; and the manager of the Visit Benidorm Foundation, Leire Bilbao.

Following the signing, Toni Pérez has made a balance of the season, coinciding with the end of the summer, underlining that "it was a summer in which the expectations we had at the beginning of the year have not been fulfilled at 100%" but from the months of September and October "are breaking molds again, positioning us in that horizon of more than 11.5 million overnight stays in 2017. These figures, meet the objective of placing Benidorm "as the third tourist destination of Spain".

Pérez thanked the support shown by the County Council to the sector with the signing of this agreement. An agreement that "consolidates what is done from Benidorm". "We must take care of what works," stressed the mayor, and what works in Benidorm "is tourism".
